GRANTS
LCC grants are awarded by the Somerville Arts Council (SAC) once a year to support artists, schools, organizations, and special projects in Somerville, Massachusetts. In addition, the SAC offers PASS grants specifically to Somerville schools in support of cultural fieldtrips.
The LCC (Local Cultural Council) Grant Program is funded and overseen by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The Somerville LCC program grants are reviewed by local peer groups having expertise in the appropriate disciplines. Each year new panelists are convened to review new submissions.
Applicants must fill the Somerville Arts Council's LCC or PASS application, and the appropriate summary form. Applicants must follow local guidelines for each new year. All applications, with support materials and a self-addressed stamped envelope, must be postmarked by the October 15, 2007 deadline.
Applicants may call the office and speak with Program Manager Rachel Strutt, who is available to assist with project design, facilitate collaboration between artists and organizations, and answer questions about the grant process, both before and after the Council makes its awards.
Come to our LCC information meetings this September 2007.
