This Boston based band was formed in late 2016 by local guitarist Todd M. Smith (Starr Faithfull, the Peacheaters, Rolling Nectar), seasoned drummer Chris Botelho (Thomas Anderson, Guilty Pleasure, LoVeSeXy), and soulful vocalist Shanell “Sugar” (Boston Pops, Sisters Of Soul, American All Star Band).
They recently added talented new members Andrew Jones on bass & Anthony Grant on keyboards, sax and vocals.
SUGAR & the ESSENTIAL SPICE bring you "Vintage High Energy Rock n' Soul, Rhythm & Blues and rare Dance Classics" ..and adding in that extra little bit of special spice. It's all that feel-good music for everyone to enjoy and dance to.
