About

Welcome to Nibble, the Somerville Arts Council initiative that celebrates food, culture and diversity. Nibble programming includes international market tours, cooking classes, occasional pop-up restaurants, a Nibble book, and this very blog you are now reading!

We are especially interested in how food tells endless stories about cultural identity and conveys a rich sense of place. Through this blog, we share tasty tales, news and resources—and hopefully encourage you to eat your way through Union Square.

By promoting and supporting food-related businesses and culinary entrepreneurs—especially from immigrant communities—we aim to spur cultural economic development and preserve the international flavor of Union Square. A long-term goal is to create a kitchen incubator/community food emporium in Union Square.
