Jessica Straus

Jessica Straus grew up on the seacoast of New Hampshire. She is a founding member of the Brickbottom Artist Building in Somerville where she has her studio. Jessica Straus is a member of the Boston Sculptors gallery where she regularly exhibits her work. She has shown her work nationally at numerous galleries and museums including the Fuller Craft Museum, the Danforth Art Museum, the Duxbury Art Complex Museum, the DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, the Berkshire Art Museum, the Boise Art Museum of Idaho, the Nicolaysen Museum of Wyoming, the Brattleboro Museum of Vermont, The Ohio Sculpture Center, the Davistown Museum in Maine, the Addison Gallery of American Art, and numerous area galleries including the Schoolhouse Gallery, Gallery NAGA, the Jewett Art Gallery, and the Clark Gallery. Her work is in the collections of The New Britain Museum of American Art, The DeCordova Museum, The Duxbury Art Complex and many corporate and private collections. A recipient of a Massachusetts Cultural Council grant and a Berkshire Taconic Foundation grant, Straus was also a 2009 nominee for the Brother Thomas award (The Boston Foundation) and a finalist for the 2011 National Association of Women Artists 10K Hammerschlag Award.
