IN THE JIMMY TINGLE THEATER
ArtBeat Saturday, July 19th
| | 1pm |
Luna Puppet Theater
Luna Theater's approach to performance uses shadow puppetry, Bulgarian and Russian folk music, dance, and a healthy dose of the imagination. Three pieces will be presented at ArtBeat 2003: "The Nose," "Kalimanku" and "Planting Peppers," the story of a boy who plants and eats excessively hot peppers.

Rough and Tumble Theatre
This Boston-based troupe performs cuttingedge, physical theater with exuberance and wit. For ArtBeat, Rough and Tumble will perform excerpts from its new original work, "Bits and Pieces." This series of innovative short pieces, part Monty Python, part Beckett, part Ramones, received critical acclaim during its run at the Boston Center for the Arts (the Boston Herald called it "hilarious!").
| | 3:45pm |
Lenguaviva
One of the most popular Cuban comedy acts of the 90s, Lenguaviva is rapidly becoming a favorite with Boston area audiences, as well. The act, which marries ingenious lyrics with a broad range of guitar rhythms, provides a rich multi-cultural experience.
