Music on the Elm Street Stage

ArtBeat: Sat., July 15th

12:30PM — Anita Coelho Brazilian Jazz Ensemble
Native Brazilian Anita Coelho and her dynamic and talented quartet perform contemporary arrangements of lesser-known Bossa Nova tunes by many of Brazil's most celebrated composers. Coelho sings in Bossa Nova and Chorinho styles of Brazilian music and is backed by a sensational line-up including Sergio Brandao on Guitar, Alexei Tsiganov on Piano, Gilad Barkan on Bass and Renato Malavasi on Drums.

1:30PM — Grand Bois
Grand Bois plays traditional Cajun music, the exuberant, soulful hybrid of Acadian French, African Creole and other diverse musical influences found among the bayous and prairies of Southwest Louisiana. With its spicy mix of two-steps, waltzes, and lilting songs sung in French, Grand Bois is popular at festivals, clubs, and parties throughout the Northeast, inspiring dancers and music lovers with a driving combination of accordion, fiddle, guitar and bass. Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulet!

2:30PM — Neptune
Neptune's unique musical concept includes forging heavy, menacing-looking guitars and drums out of circular saw blades, gas tanks, oil drums, bike parts, VCR casings and miscellaneous scrap metal found in the trash. With less guys and more gear, Neptune rocks like The Fall, clangs like Neubauten and drones like Faust with improvised and not-so-improvised songs that you can almost dance to.

3:30PM —Session Americana
Session Americana, winner of the 2005 Boston Music Award for "Best Folk Act", is a band that joyously celebrates the traditions of folk music while also embracing the spirit of a rock'n'roll band -- but at a quarter of the volume. The band plays seated around a table with one microphone sharing instruments, songs, and a rockin' good time!

4:30PM — The Ramoniacs
The Ramoniacs are New England's Tribute to The Ramones. With leather jackets, ripped jeans, and all the original personality; Bobby, Danny, Tommy, and Andy Ramoniac are bringing back those great Ramones classics from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. With favorites such as Blitzkrieg Bop and Rock & Roll High School on the set list the show is guaranteed to spark some great memories. Gabba Gabba Hey!
