ArtsUnion - Street Architecture 2006

2006 - As the Somerville Arts Council and the Mayor's Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development worked with the winning proposals of the artists' new streetscape architecture, a few items started to appear in Union Square.

ArtsUnion expanded its vision and announced another call for designers, fabricators, artists and architects to design and fabricate a performance and gathering area within the Union Square plaza. Initial proposals were due June 8, 2006 Download call here.

Additionally, ArtsUnion put a call out to artists/designers/engineers who work with light to submit proposals to create light displays within Union Square during the winter of 2006/07. The deadline for this call was October 3, 2006. Download Lightscapes call here.
