Art in the Garden

2008 program begins on Monday, July 7th. Register on-site.

Each summer, typically, beginning the first Monday after July 4th, the Arts Council starts the Art in the Garden.

This free program to Somerville residents includes art and nature activities is held at the beautiful Community Growing Center at Vinal Avenue (b/w Summer and Highland). The 6-week program takes place on Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 to 1:00, children and parents are invited to drop in and paint, draw, sculpt, garden, and explore nature.

There is no pre-registration. Registration is done on the first day of your arrival. Because the program is free, it is a first come first served each day. We also request demographic and emergency contact information which must be completed on the first day.

Breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge by the Somerville Food Service, at 9:00 and 12:30 respectively.

Children who have not competed kindergarten must be accompanied by an adult. The program population typically served is from ages 6 to 12.
