LCC GRANTS

LCC Grants are awarded by the Somerville Arts Council once a year to support artists, organizations, and special projects in Somerville Massachusetts. The LCC (Local Cultural Council) Grant Program is funded and overseen by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Applicants must fill out a two page application form (including a budget section) using the Somerville Arts Council's application and summary form and following the local guidelines. For FY2003, all applications, with support materials and a self-addressed stamped envelope, must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, October 15, 2002.

Reimbursement forms for current grant recipients are now available to download.

Applicants may call the office and speak with Program Manager Rachel Strutt, who is available to assist with project design, facilitate collaboration between artists and organizations, and answer questions about the grant process, both before and after the Council makes its awards.

Attention, individual artists!

Not sure which type of grant to apply for? If you don't have a specific project in mind, then a fellowship is your only option. However, if you do have a project in mind, ask yourself this question: does my project significantly benefit the Somerville community? If the answer is no, apply for a fellowship. If the answer is yes, consider a project or education grant.

Other Funding Opportunities
