Smallest Town Ensemble

Performance Date and Time :
Saturday, July 15 5:00 PM

From the heart of Inman Square, Matt Bowker (Mount Peru trumpeter and keyboardist) has launched a charm offensive of lush arrangements and gorgeous harmonies, at the intersection of old-time song craft and newfangled technology where the Crosswalk Cowboy is always up early, lending a hand to guide people through the kaleidoscopic landscape of his vibrant little city.

The Northeastern Railroads

Performance Date and Time :
Saturday, July 15 8:00 PM

“The Northeastern Railroads” is the artistic name of Tony Moureilles.  Markedly influenced by shoegaze and dream pop bands, he creates songs with textured layers of atmospheric guitars and dream-like vocals.  Tony’s debut album —Hope— was released on March 17, 2017.  The lyrics to Hope reveal both sweet and bitter life experiences painted sometimes with child-like grief, sometimes with self-deprecating humor.  A close group

Gritty Titty feat. special guest Lydia N

7 Hillside Park, Somerville (see map on right)
Band Contact: Suelin Chen
Saturday, May 13 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Gritty Titty is not a band with whom one would want to trifle. For as onlookers are dazzled by the Titty, the Gritty is balling up its fist...and you only notice that fist when it's inches away from the bridge of your nose. It's too late to parry or duck. And as the Gritty is shattering cartilage, the Titty is hooking to the body, targeting vital organs. You've been deceived by the dazzle of the Titty. It's too late. The back of your head is dusting the floor. In this scenario, fists are metaphors for rock and roll.

An alembic is an alchemical still of two vessels connected by a tube used for distilling chemicals; wendy alembic is a very quiet song, a breath of light, a tinkle of windex.

The Pluto Tapes

259 Willow Ave, Somerville (see map on right)
Band Contact: Andy Hicks
Saturday, May 13 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The Pluto Tapes are a largely fictional, and occasionally real, catchy-indie-rock band made up primarily of Andy Hicks and his imaginary friends. Occasionally, he's joined on-stage by drummer Brad Smith (ex-Strangerways) and others, who accompany Andy's brilliant displays of charmingly self-deprecating loudpop. Also, they do a mean cover of "When I Grow Up" from MATILDA. Nerds, theater kids, and people who genuinely like '90s-'00s half-hit wonders like Abandoned Pools, Ash, and Fretblanket... come thrill to the atomically charged sounds of The Pluto Tapes. What else you got planned... a Shadowrun tournament? A Pete & Pete marathon? A *family*? Bah.
