Volunteers make our work possible!

Every year, the activities of the Somerville Arts Council are made possible by the energy, talent and enthusiasm of hundreds of volunteers. We invite you to get involved!

What do you get for being a volunteer?

  • First and foremost, you'll feel the satisfaction of helping to promote the arts and quality of life in Somerville.
  • You'll meet other people interested in the arts.
  • You'll have the opportunity to learn and use new skills.

You can join a committee that organizes an event or exhibition--ArtBeat, the Illuminations Tour or the Windows Art Project. You can also sign-up to help out for a couple of hours during an event or program: hand out information, hang an exhibition, distribute posters or flyers, or help with children's activities!

If you enjoy working with children or teens, check out Art Without Walls, an initiative sponsoring in- and out-of-school arts programs.

We also welcome help with our busy office--we regularly need help with mailings, data entry, publicity, graphic design and Web site updating.

To volunteer, please fill out a volunteer form and mail (Somerville Arts Council, 50 Evergreen Ave, Somerville, MA 02145) or fax it back to us (617-666-4325).
