Somerville possess a wealth of individual artists and vibrant organizations. To support them we provide our LCC grant program providing fellowships to artists and project grants to both artists and organizations.
Arts and Events
Our most public facing work are our public art and events. By putting out calls to work with local artists to produce events, we foster Somerville's image as a creative city while providing opportunties for local artists. Check out ArtBeat, ArtsUnion, Jazz and Blues Fest.
Cultural Economic Development
For over ten years we've spearheaded cultural economic development work through our work with ArtsUnion. Ensuring that arts and cultural are a priority in Union Square.
The mission of the Somerville Arts Council is to cultivate and celebrate the creative expressions of the Somerville community. Through innovative collaborations and quality programming we work to make the arts an integral part of life reflective of our diverse city.
