“Overtime as the drawings developed, it became clear that although i was bringing them to fruition, they were creating themselves. They were curating their own stories through their expression and color palette.”

“My art comes from my heart and therefore my paintings represent a part of my soul. I began to look internally instead of externally to discover what emotions. actions, and intentions were trying to tell me, and how they’ve helped me grow and flourish as an artist and resident of this Earth.”

Hello! My name is Enryka Christopher, and I am an artist in Somerville! I am also a Global Mental Health researcher who focuses on trauma, extremism & violence. My upbringing in a notorious cult, the Moonies, has influenced my research interests, and art has been a way throughout my life to help me cope with my own trauma from growing up in an extremist environment. I have recently started to incorporate my insights from my research into my art. I hope to share my art with others to help promote mental health. Learn more about me at enrykachristopher.com!
